The Special Products division of Luvata was acquired by Mitsubishi Materials Corporation in May 2017. 

"Luvata" comes from a Finnish word meaning "to promise" and today our corporate headquarters is in Pori, Finland.

Pekka KleemolaPekka Kleemola
President & CEO

Pekka Kleemola has worked for the company nearly 20 years. Pekka’s background is in finance while during his career he has also been closely involved in various strategic and business development projects including M&A. 

Prior to becoming President and CEO, Pekka worked as Senior Vice President and CFO for the Luvata Group. He has an MSc in Economics from the University of Tampere. Throughout his career he has also participated in multiple management and leadership programs.

Pekka lives in Finland and in his spare time he enjoys spending time in the forests either cycling, jogging or skiing.

 

Kati Männistö
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial OfficerKati Männistö

Kati Männistö joined the company in 2017 when Special Products division was acquired by Mitsubishi Materials Corporation and headquarter operations were established in Pori.

Prior Luvata, she has held various finance positions in companies such as Outokumpu and Kemira. Before becoming CFO Kati worked as Head of Group Financial Control for the Luvata Group.

Kati has an M.Sc in Economics from the University of Tampere. She lives in Pori, Finland with her husband and three sons.

 

Takuya KitamuraTakuya Kitamura
Senior Vice President
Business Development
Takuya Kitamura joined Mitsubishi Materials Corporation in 1998, starting his career working in the cement sales function in Japan and in Vietnam. He has also worked in an M&A project in the United States and in the Public Relations function, where he was most recently in charge of corporate strategy.

Takuya has degrees of LL.B from Kwansei Gakuin University and MBA from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.

Takuya lives in Pori, Finland and enjoys his holidays fly fishing in the summer and skiing in the winter.

People & Leadership

Mikko Juusela joined Luvata in 2005. Prior to Luvata, Mikko worked for ten years at Outokumpu Research, known today as Outotec.

Mikko has degrees including a M.Sc. (physical Chemistry) from the University of Turku and a Lic. Tech. in Material Processing and Management Training from the Helsinki University of Technology. Mikko continues to participate in various leadership courses and conducts similar leadership and coaching sessions for employees.

Mikko lives in Pori, Finland with his wife and two children.  He is a youth ice-hockey coach and also the chairman of the local hockey team.   




Annamari AhlmarkAnnamari Ahlmark
Senior Vice President
General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer
Annamari Ahlmark has joined Luvata in 2023. She has a wide experience in working in the industrial sector and around 20-year-long career working in law and compliance positions. Prior to Luvata Annamari has worked as in-house Legal Counsel at Wärtsilä, Elcoteq and Hartwall, and at Uponor as a Senior Legal Counsel & Group Compliance Officer. During her entire career, she has been involved in international business.

Annamari has Master’s Degree in Law from University of Helsinki and Master’s degree in International Business from Helsinki School of Business, and she was Trained on the Bench at the Helsinki District Court.

Annamari has two children and lives in Finland with her family. She enjoys various free-time activities, such as boating and skiing, with family and friends.  




Olli Naukkarinen_BW_200x200Olli Naukkarinen
Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer

Olli Naukkarinen joined Outokumpu in 1991 and has since held various managerial and leadership positions at Outokumpu and Luvata in Finland, the USA and Austria. 

For the first five years following graduation he was with the automation company Cimcorp in Finland and the USA. In the copper industry he has worked in manufacturing, technology management and R&D, as well as various business and managing director positions. Most recently at an Outokumpu spin off company Neorem Magnets as vice president.

Olli graduated with a MSc in Technical Physics from the Helsinki University of Technology. On the graduate level he has continued to further his technology management studies and through eMBA education courses he has deepened his business and leadership skills.

Olli lives in Finland with his family and he can be found sailing in summer and hunting in winter.

Senior Vice President Technology Development

Kenichi Takagi joined Mitsubishi Materials Corporation in 1993 and has since focused on the development of copper and copper alloy fabricating business.

Kenichi has spent much of his career working at various manufacturing sites in charge of technology development and production management, with some two years in R&D at the central research laboratory. He subsequently served several years at the head office in Tokyo working with overseas business planning departments, prior to his current position in Luvata.

Kenichi has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Tokyo University of Science. Kenichi currently lives in Pori, Finland with his wife and child. Outside of work he can be found surfing, usually somewhere else in the world.  

 
Antti Kilpinen 2016_BW_200x200Antti Kilpinen
Executive Vice President Superconductors

Antti Kilpinen joined Luvata in 1996. He has worked in technology and business management for 20 years. His experience in managing the plating anode business and telecommunications segment in multi-cultural environments has served him well in the strategic expansion of Luvata's worldwide superconductor business.

For nine years prior to joining Luvata, Antti was involved with academic research and R&D in the metals and construction industries.

Antti holds a D.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering, as well as a post graduate degree, Lic.Econ in Business Administration, from Åbo Akademi University.

Outside of work, Antti can be found sailing with his family, in-line skating or cross country skiing.

Executive Vice President Formed Products

Dirk  Greywitt has nearly 30 years of experience at various Luvata manufacturing companies.  Previous positions include Process Engineer, Quality Manager, Information Technology Manager and Operations Manager.  Since 2003, Dirk has been responsible for the global Formed Products Business Unit.

Dirk has extensive experience and knowledge in international business practice and culture after leading successful business startups in China and Brazil.  His international experience is further enhanced by many years of developing customer and business relationships around the world.

Dirk received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering in 1987 from The Ohio State University. In 2002, he received a Master Degree in Business Administration from Franklin University.

Dirk is married and lives in Ohio and has four grown children. He enjoys the frustrations of golfing and has a cat.




Michael Nordgren 2016_BW_200x200Yee Hoe Saw
Executive Vice President Electrical Power Asia 
Yee Hoe Saw joined Outokumpu Copper Products (M) Sdn. Bhd. in 2003 and has since then held several operative manager and business development positions at Outokumpu and Luvata. Prior to becoming Executive Vice President Electrical Power Asia, Saw worked as Director of Operations of Luvata Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., and he has been member of the local Management Group since 2007.

Saw has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University Technology of Malaysia. He is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt holder by Neville Clarke.

Saw lives in Malaysia. He is married and has two children. In his spare time, he enjoys jogging and cycling.

Executive Vice President Special Products Appleton

John has almost 30 years’ experience in the copper and copper alloy industry, including over 25 years with Luvata. John started his career in sales with Outokumpu Copper Buffalo eventually becoming Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Buffalo rolling mill.

John and his family moved to Appleton, Wisconsin in the summer of 2001 where he became President of Luvata Appleton. John holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hartford. He enjoys all sports and fitness.

Executive Vice President Special Products Pori

Jyrki Rantanen has some 25 years of experience with Luvata, previously Outokumpu. During his career, Jyrki has held several finance positions in different business areas including two years working in the USA at the company’s superconductors facility in Waterbury, Connecticut. Prior to his current position, Jyrki held a position of SVP Strategy and Business Development in Luvata for 7 years.

Jyrki has an M.Sc in Economics, specializing in Quantitative Business Analysis from the University of Vaasa and he has completed several supplementary management and leadership courses, including the Luvata Leadership Program. 

Jyrki has three children; two daughters and a son. Jyrki holds a black belt in karate and practices that currently in Pori, Finland.

Toshinori Ishii
Chairman of the Board
President, Advanced Products Company

Toshinori Ishii joined Mitsubishi Metals Corporation, the predecessor of Mitsubishi Materials Corporation (MMC), in 1986. His career started as an engineer developing copper bonding wires for semiconductors at the Osaka Refinery.

In 1989, he was assigned to MMC's Sanda Plant, where he was engaged in the development and manufacturing of semiconductor-related materials. Having served as General Manager of MUE Materials Taiwan Co. Ltd. since 2007, he held various positions at the headquarters in MMC’s Electronic Materials business after 2013. In April 2022, he was appointed the Managing Executive Officer of MMC and President of Advanced Products Company.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the School of Engineering, Osaka University. His hobby is playing the flute.

Norikazu Ishida joined Mitsubishi Metals Corp., the predecessor company of Mitsubishi Materials Corp. (MMC), in 1989. He started his career at the corporate research laboratory, being in charge of R&D for Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) including other copper alloys.

He moved to Onahama Smelting and Refining Co., Ltd. in 1995, then the Sakai plant of MMC in 2001; applying his expertise in production management in the versatile field of copper products focusing on OFC and other alloys. Since 2012, he has served in the technology department of the copper and copper alloy division.

Ishida graduated with a Master of Engineering degree from the Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka Prefecture University in Osaka. Ishida enjoys playing baseball as well as coaching kids in the community.

Copper and Copper Alloy Division, Advanced Products Company

Hideki Hayashi joined Mitsubishi Materials Corporation in 1992, and he has more than 24 years' experience in copper, precious metals and the copper alloy business. He started his business career as a copper ore procurement representative at the Naoshima smelting and refinery in Japan. Since then he has been developing his business skills focusing on sales & marketing, business strategy and project management. For the past 10 years, he has mainly been involved in merger and acquisitions in the copper fabrication industry.

Hayashi has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan in the USA. He is married and has two sons.
